Summer in Vent

Vent lies at 1,900 metres and is the perfect starting point for your hiking holiday in the Ötztal. Thanks to its location at the tree line, many tours begin with an open panorama - without long, strenuous climbs through dense forests. From cosy hut hikes and high-altitude trails to the highest hiking peaks in the Eastern Alps: the variety around Vent is extraordinary. Alpine club huts, quiet paths, impressive glacier views and pure nature accompany you from the very first step.

You don't have to climb the countless metres of altitude yourself. The Stablein and Wildes Mannle chairlifts take you comfortably up to 2,670 metres.

Vent is the oldest settlement in Ötztal and a place full of history. The traditional sheep herding from South Tyrol, the proximity to the site where the famous iceman Ötzi was found and the influence of the glacier priest Franz Senn still characterise the village today. The Rofenhöfe farms - the highest permanent settlement in the Eastern Alps - are a worthwhile destination that can be reached from Vent via a suspension bridge. The Via Alpina and the E5 long-distance hiking trail, two of the most important long-distance hiking trails in Europe, also run through the mountaineering village.

Vent is a true Eldorado for mountaineers. The local mountain guides know every flank and every summit in Vent in the Ötztal. Classics such as Wildspitze, Similaun or Weißkugel are just as much a choice as quieter summit destinations - such as Ramolkogel, Hochvernagtspitze or Brochkogel.
